Sunday: Chinuch Network Event

The Fourth Annual Chinuch Job Fair from the Menachem Education Foundation will give educators the opportunity to meet with schools looking to hire.

The Menachem Education Foundation is hosting its Fourth Annual Chinuch Job Fair on Sunday April 3rd at Lubavitcher Yeshiva, 570 Crown Street.

The event, which has become known as the #1 Chinuch networking event of the year, will host a session for women from 3:00-5:45pm and for men from 6:00-8:45pm.

The Chinuch Job Fair is a recruiting and networking event where employers and recruiters from different schools have the opportunity to meet with prospective hires. Men and women looking to work within the field of education can use this opportunity to meet with schools and hear more about the positions they have to offer.

DO I NEED EXPERIENCE IN CHINUCH?
This event caters to those looking for a first-time position in Chinuch* as well as those who are already involved in the field and want to advance their career. Opportunities are available for couples looking for Chinuch positions in Shlichus communities out of town (See below).

DOES THIS MEAN I CAN COME FIND A JOB?
Yes, you can find a potential job, but no you will not be hired on the spot. Each school will have a table where participants can drop by, hear about the positions, and leave a resume or cover letter. Schools don’t hire at the job fair, but instead may hold brief, informal interviews to be followed up on at a later point.

HOW DO I PREPARE?
Start by pre-registering for the event, and lock in the lower fee. Work on creating or fine-tuning a recent and updated resume, and an optional cover letter explaining why you want to work in Chinuch. Prepare a 20-30 second introduction to use with employers you are interested in. Be sure to bring enough copies of your resume to leave with potential employers, who may follow up with you after the job fair if they are interested.

WHAT SHOULD I DO AT THE JOB FAIR?
Do walk around the room, meeting and networking with potential employers.
Do be prepared to talk about your work experiences, skills, and abilities.
Don’t just drop your resume on the recruiter’s table and walk off.
Do take the initiative and ask about the next step in the process. And do be prepared to follow-up all job leads.
Don’t waste the opportunity to network, not only with the recruiters, but with fellow job-seekers and other professionals in attendance at the job fair.
