Resource Fair, 20 + Sessions at Day 2 of Kinus Mechanchos

Still on a high from Tuesday night’s Thankquet, Mechanchos were excited to attend another day of workshops and sessions on the second day of the 10th Annual Kinus Mechanchos Chabad.

The second day of the Kinus Mechanchos in Stamford, CT, included over 20 workshops, and a full day resource fair that boasted cutting-edge teaching curricula and classroom resources, Mechanchos were able to add to their teaching repertoire before the upcoming school year.

The morning began with options to attend a Chassidus shiur with Rav in residence, Rabbi Braun, or an exercise class with a short workout geared for teachers with Peshy Tiefenbrun. Sessions followed after a luxurious breakfast, including Adina Altein, Educator, Shlucha and founder of ABD Leaders, who led a workshop called, This Wasn’t in the Manual: The Hilarious, Heartfelt, & Honest Reckoning for Authentic, Brave, and Dignified Educators, as well as Rabbi Dr. Yosef Shagalow presented on an area that many educators grapple with, which is how to maintain their own emotional and mental health while helping students with theirs.

Other workshops on pertinent Chinuch topics included Instilling Yiras Shamayim in Our Students with Rabbi Braun, “Design Thinking” for experienced educators led by Miriam Gettinger, Nonfrontal teaching methods with Dr. Chani Negin, Moshiach Model of Chinuch with Racheli Muchnik, and Kriah Fluency with Tova Rottenberg, M.Ed, BCBA.

Networking groups continued today, with conversations for upper and lower elementary teachers, pre1A/K teachers and early childhood educators.

A special Ten Takes program took place in the afternoon, which featured 10 Mechanchos, including Bracha Yanni, Ruchama Thaler, Rivky Lehrer, Geulah Newman, and Sheina Jacobson, who each shared their perspective on the Kinus theme, “The Blessing of Chinuch.” Their heartfelt words inspired participants and offered encouragement to just keep on going, even when work in the classroom can be challenging.

The largest-ever Kinus Mechanchos Chabad could not have been made possible without the incredible team: Rabbi Zalman Shneur, Executive Director, Chanah Rose, Educational Director, Alyson Feldman, Event Manager, Mushkie Lipsker, Kinus Program Coordinator, Etty Teleshevsky, Administrator, Bayla Rutman and Mushka Cohen and Sarah Pinson, Communications Directors, Esther Shifra Matuf, Fundraising, and Chaim Zippel, Banquet Producer. The dedicated committee of the Kinus Mechanchos, led by the esteemed Vaad Hakinus, worked tirelessly for months to shape this Kinus into a truly joyful and memorable experience.
