Dozens of Chabad Principals, Directors to Join Long Island Retreat

Leadership is not an expertise. Leadership is a constant education.

Dozens of Chabad school principals and educational leaders plan to join a women-only leadership retreat in Great Neck, New York on 22-23 Teves, January 15-16. The retreat, organized by the Menachem Education Foundation, will take place at Chabad of Great Neck and the highly acclaimed Silverstein Hebrew Academy.

“School principals are constantly in a position of juggling multiple balls, priorities and concerns, while giving lev v’nefesh to their schools,” says Mrs. Chanah Rose, the educational director of the Menachem Education Foundation. “It is so important to us to support these Menahalos with opportunities to connect and reflect. We have seen wonderful new initiatives come out of previous leadership events, with direct benefit to their students.”

The retreat will welcome educational leaders from across the Chinuch spectrum, including preschool, elementary, and high school principals, with the theme of “Work Smarter, Not Harder.” A full program will offer opportunities for networking, learning and inspiration. Rabbi Elie Tuchman Ed. D., veteran educator and school leader and sought after speaker and consultant, will be the featured presenter on more effective and efficient school leadership. A Hakhel Panel on approaches to school leadership entitled “One Team, Three Takes” will be presented by the conference hostesses, Mrs. Chanie Geisinsky, Mrs. Chumie Ezagui, and Mrs. Sarah Kravitsky.

A sit-down banquet dinner on Sunday evening will celebrate the Menahalos who give so much of themselves to the world of Chinuch. Accommodations at the Great Neck Inn, a luxurious boutique hotel, will give the principals the break they need before returning to school refreshed and empowered in their leadership roles.

Preschool and elementary principals will enjoy classroom observations of Silverstein Hebrew Academy, while high school principals will be offered a similar opportunity at a local high school in Long Island.

Registration closes this Friday – 13 Teves / January 15, to join this incredible experience. For more information about the retreat and to register, click here. Take a break to come back stronger, and invest in your school leadership Shlichus in this one of a kind Hakhel!
