647 educators gathered for the 10th Annual Kinus Mechanchos Chabad, starting at the Ohel and continuing with workshops, learning sessions, and networking at the Hilton Stamford Hotel and Executive Meeting Center.
The 10th Annual Kinus Mechanchos Chabad began at the Ohel with Mrs. Rivka Gordon delivering inspiring words to the Mechanchos. Mrs. Batsheva Deren, member of the Vaad Chinuch, then read the Pan Klali, signed by over nine hundred educators.
Following this, teachers were greeted at the Hilton Stamford Hotel and Executive Meeting Center with a series of fun and joyous activities that connected back to the Kinus theme of “The Blessing of Chinuch.”
Mrs. Chanah Rose, Educational Director at the Menachem Education Foundation opened the program, and Rabbi Yosef Yeshaya Braun, Rav of Crown Heights, unpacked the theme of “The Blessing of Chinuch” during the welcoming lunch.
At this year’s expanded Kinus, participants enjoyed new workshop tracks, including foundational courses for new teachers, advanced presentations for experienced educators and teaching with technology, presented by Mechanchos and Chinuch experts. Some of the 20 plus workshops on the first day included: Using AI to Save Time with Mushkie Lipsker, M.Ed., Bringing Values and Intention to the Classroom with Mrs. Shterna Rappaport, Understanding the Mental Health Needs of Students with Rabbi Dr. Yosef Shagalow, and Foundations of Classroom Management with Danit Schusterman, M.S.Ed.
In addition, meaningful conversations and exchange of ideas took place in facilitated networking sessions, tailored to niche roles in Chinuch. Groups included curriculum directors, day school leaders, general studies educators, Bnos Chabad and administrators, in addition to preschool, elementary and high school networking.
A special self-care track to treat Mechanchos for their hard work and dedication included color palette sessions with Tzipa Spalter, a paint night with Sara Blau and cooking demo with chef Ayela Krispine, in addition to the gourmet food by Turk catering and beautiful event produced by Alyson Feldman of FFH events.
