Morah Tiechtel’s Chinuch Tour Inspires Staff and Students in Kingston, PA

Morah Shana Tiechtel’s Chinuch tour, facilitated and co-sponsored by the Menachem Education Foundation, made its second stop in Kingston, PA last week. After an inspiring series of addresses on Chinuch in Monsey, NY, staff at Cheder Menachem Kingston were excited to have Morah Tiechtel give a midyear boost of Chinuch inspiration, and they were blown away by what she shared.

Morah Tiechtel began with a moving mid-morning farbrengen with the high school staff, on the topic of teaching as a Shlichus, and how to build our classes and relationships with students on that foundation. Teachers walked away refreshed with new perspectives on how to integrate the Rebbe’s teachings about Chinuch in their everyday routines, lessons and interactions in the classroom.

“The passion Morah Tiechtel speaks with goes straight to the heart, and I immensely enjoyed every word that she shared,” expressed one of the teachers.

At an elegant evening for the elementary school teachers hosted by a community member, Morah Tiechtel led a meaningful farbrengen on the Rebbe’s view for how to connect with students, through discussion, text based learning, and practical tools and examples. Teachers shared how eye-opening Morah Tiechtel’s messages were.

“It was so refreshing to hear old-age wisdom combined with progressive learning and emotional standards! She really took me by surprise by the down-to-earth and meaningful approach,” one teacher shared.

“She has so much clear Hadracha from the Rebbe on today’s Chinuch and it was so special to hear firsthand,” another participant reflected.

Students also got to hear from Morah Tiechtel on this two day visit, beginning with a talk to the high school on the topic of resilience. Through an interactive presentation, Morah Tiechtel guided the students to build their own toolboxes for resilience, with stories from Torah and the Rebbe’s teachings of Emunah and Bitachon, and how to do it all with Simcha.

Middle school students enjoyed an interactive workshop from Morah Tiechtel on the topic of gratitude vs. entitlement. To highlight the message, she brought out the deeper meaning of Kabolas Ol, through hands-on activities and relevant examples for middle school students.

The whirlwind tour concluded with Morah Tiechtel’s walkthrough of Cheder Menachem, observing the classrooms, curriculums and culture, and sharing feedback on the school’s practices, as part of her role as Senior Chinuch Consultant of the Menachem Education Foundation.

Bringing Chinuch role models to our communities is such an important step in elevating the Shlichus of Chinuch wherever we are. By giving a boost of Chinuch inspiration to teachers, students, and even parents in each stop on this Chinuch tour, Morah Tiechtel empowers educators to continue in their holy work, and inspires students to see Chinuch as a Shlichus to aspire to.
