Chinuch & Shlichus Opportunity: High School Principal
Yeshiva Schools of Pittsburgh is seeking a visionary and values-driven High School Principal to lead our Girls High School division. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to shape the educational, spiritual, and personal development of our students within a school deeply rooted in Torah values and committed to academic excellence.
As a member of a dynamic leadership team, the High School Principal will oversee all aspects of the division’s functioning, working collaboratively with the Dean of Academics, Mrs. Shollar, who will continue to direct academic programming and instructional leadership. The Principal holds overarching responsibility for student life, staff culture, parent engagement, and operational strategy.
Position Overview
The Principal of the Girls High School serves as the division’s chief administrator. This includes full accountability for the school’s vision, staff management, student wellbeing, and program execution. The Principal delegates academic leadership to the Dean of Academics while ensuring that all aspects of school life align with institutional goals, community values, and educational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Vision: Set the tone for a warm, disciplined, growth-oriented school culture rooted in Chassidishe values and high standards.
Staff Oversight: Hire and manage faculty; foster a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Academic Accountability: Maintain responsibility for academic quality by working closely with the Dean of Academics to align curriculum, instruction, and student outcomes with the school’s mission.
Student Life & Support: Serve as a mashpia and mentor to students; oversee behavioral systems, social-emotional wellbeing, and school climate.
Parent & Community Engagement: Communicate with parents proactively and responsively regarding student performance, school events, and concerns.
School Operations: Oversee scheduling, staffing coverage, budgetary implementation, policy enforcement, and compliance.
Extracurricular Enrichment: Oversee the implementation of meaningful student programming, productions, volunteer opportunities, and milestone events.
Strategic Collaboration: Coordinate closely with the Dean of Academics and Head of School to ensure cohesive leadership across all domains.
Qualifications
Proven leadership experience in Jewish education, preferably at the secondary school level.
Deep understanding of and commitment to both Limudei Kodesh and General Studies.
Demonstrated ability to manage a team, cultivate school culture, and guide student development.
Strong interpersonal skills and experience communicating with parents, faculty, and students.
Passion for chinuch and a desire to contribute meaningfully to a shlichus-driven institution.
