- Instead of “You’re so smart!”, try “You’re really putting in effort, and it shows.” This focuses on their effort and WORK, and not just what they’re born with.
- What’s a growth mindset? A desire to keep learning and growing, thinking of challenges as opportunities for growth and putting focus on effort and the journey over results. Oh, and it’s for kids and adults.
- Did you say one of these in the last 24 hours? “I can’t do it.” “I don’t know how to.” “I don’t understand.” Now, go back and add the word “YET” at the end of these phrases. And then reread (and resay!) them. And then give this gift of YET to your students.
