Principal Job Description
The Principal strives for unity, harmony among staff and faculty, cooperation through tact, helpfulness, respect, and recognition of individual differences and the abilities and strengths of each member
The Principal oversees the faculty of the school, is responsible for the academic program and quality, development and implementation of the curriculum, student life (discipline), and overall school school policies and procedures in regards to the educational operations of the school.
Reports to:
The Principal reports to the Board of directors to inform and present a monthly report addressing the state of the school at regular meetings.
Roles:

The Principal develops and implements academic policy and program guidelines.

The Principal conceptualizes the broader goals of the school and plans accordingly to ensure that procedures and schedules are implemented to carry out an effective comprehensive school program, one which ensures the highest quality of educational excellence.

The Principal supervises all faculty, directly and/or indirectly and appraises the performance of the school staff with support from the administrative team.

The Principal maintains good relationships with students, staff, and parents.

The Principal resolves any issues between a teacher and a parent that heretofore could not be resolved.

The Principal complies with established lines of authority and can delegate roles and responsibility to other faculty and staff.

The Principal hires teachers, support staff and orients new staff.

The Principal is aware of educational, physical, social, and emotional needs of the school community and seeks to develop plans to meet those needs.

The Principal is aware of service needs and organizes, oversees, and provides support to the various services, supplies, and materials provided to carry out the school program.
Responsibilities:

The Principal serves as the lead administrator of the school in developing and implementing policies, programs, and curriculum activities in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member.

The Principal communicates and implements established academic policies.

The Principal communicates program goals, objectives, and policies to the community.

The Principal represents the school to the community, parents, donors and affiliated agencies and businesses.

The Principal is responsible for general planning and coordination.

The Principal defines the responsibilities and accountabilities of staff members.

The Principal supports the professional growth of the school staff and continuous enhancement of the quality of the instructional program.

The Principal defines School Objectives: Identifies the objectives for the Judaic, and general studies, as well as extracurricular programs that are related to the school’s academic core mission.

The Principal ensures curriculum objectives and instructional objectives for a given subject and/or classroom are developed, and involves the faculty in the development of specific curricular objectives to meet the needs of the school and the students it serves.

The Principal seeks to facilitate organizational efficiency by maintaining on-going communication with school administration, faculty and staff.
